What is Koblo?
Koblo is purchase and sales of music in open audio multitrack files
What is a multitrack audio file ?
A Koblo multitrack audio file is a user friendly version of the original Master the artist recorded in a studio. All primary instrument and vocals in separate tracks or stems.
A Koblo mutitrack file can contain up to 8 stems.
Is Koblo legal ?
Yes, it is legal !
Koblo receives the music directly from the artist or record company holding the property rights to publicise the music.
Koblo will administer royalty payment to the property rights holder and the relevant collective rights management societies.
What about copyright ?
Same terms and conditions apply as when buying a CD. Tracks and stems purchased through Koblo can be enjoyed, used and played in private or in places where royalty payments are paid.
-A music teacher may use a track when teaching
-A DJ may use a track at the disco
-A fitness instructor may use a track when instructing
The only place a DJ / Remixer may ”publish” a remix is on Koblo. This will enable the artist / record company to control the various versions.
The user assumes full responsibility for, guarantee and agree that no material uploaded by the user violate any copyrights.
Koblo will prior to upload evaluate and review all data in order to prevent infringements of copyright laws.
Koblo will exercise its right not to upload any data that is in conflict with copyright laws.
Koblo reserves the right to report any copyright infringements to the appropriate parties and authorities.
Should a record company want to publish a remix from Koblo it may contact the remixer directly. Any agreement between the two parties is of no concern to Koblo.
Do you cooperate with collective rights management societies ?
Yes. Koblo is cooperating with Koda (www.koda.dk/eng/about-koda)
What about Money
Koblo is a business. Koblo will administer VAT, royalty payments and payment to the remixer when relevant.
The remainder is split between Koblo and the artist / record company.
Can a remixer sell a remix wherever he wants ?
No. When a remixer purchase tracks / stems through Koblo this does not allow him to publish the remix outside Koblo.
A remixer or record company may want to publish a track containing stems from Koblo. In this case the remixer and the record company must find an agreement on their own. Any such agreement is of no concern to Koblo.
